Thiago has gained more weight - he weighed 624 grams last night! However, David and I witnessed a very bad moment; water from his respirator sometimes gets into his lungs and the nurse has to just come in and suction it out. But last night too much water got in and the nurse didn't have the suction piece hooked up properly - so she took much longer get the water out. Thiago went from an active baby to a lifeless body. He lost all his color and his heart rate went from 155 to 132 to 100 to 80 to 50 to 42. David and I just stood there in complete shock as our baby's heart rate just kept dropping. It took over 5 minutes to bring him back completely. Words can't ever describe how David and I felt standing there in silence as the nurse kept working and working really fast to try and bring Thiago back. Last night was a tough night. The video below is him sleeping peacefully right before everything occurred.
