QUICK UPDATE

We had about one entire good week. The results for Thiago’s heart murmur shows that it closed an itsy bit, but its still there – what they consider to be moderate size (still large). His doctor decided to go with another round of medication for the heart murmur. Which we were both a bit hesitant on just because the medication has its risks, but I guess its OK since Thiago did tolerate it the last time and we want to avoid surgery. Moving forward they needed to insert an IV to get the medication started. David and I were so excited that he was alert and seemed to be finally resting, but then he ended up getting stuck 6 times with a needle (nurses had no luck with any of the veins) and they finally found a good one - on his head. Extremely lethargic because of all the poking, he slept more than ever. The next day (today) Thiago is getting yet another blood transfusion, a somewhat painful eye exam and his second dose of the medication for the murmur.

Although he has gone through so much since his birthday – his other preemie friend Kaleigh Anne, which we have been following her blog is not doing so well. I ask for prayer requests for my sweet Thiago all the time, but today I ask that we pray for Kaleigh and her family.
